Our services

We specialise in supporting small organisations doing socially useful work, including worker co-operatives, CICs, charities and grassroots projects. We mostly work with very small organisations with 0-10 members of paid staff without the capacity for in-house finance and admin staff.

If the service you need is not listed, please get in touch. If we cannot help directly, we will try to signpost you to someone who can. Please note we do not offer regulated services such as audit, insolvency, or investment advice.

Crisis management

We can support organisations going through difficult situations, including internal disputes, staffing issues, governance problems, or organisational change. This can include administrative support, policy reviews, resilience planning, and helping to stabilise day-to-day operations while issues are being resolved. Where appropriate, we can also arrange professional mediation and help facilitate decision-making meetings.

Business planning

We can help you write a business plan that clearly sets out your organisation’s aims, activities, and financial plans. This usually involves a few structured meetings where we work through your goals, skills, ideas, and experience together and turn them into a practical plan.

Bookkeeping

We can manage your bookkeeping using appropriate software, keep your records up to date, and help you understand your financial position. We also offer training for organisations who want to learn how to do their own bookkeeping, so you can build confidence and keep costs down if you prefer to manage things internally.

Payroll

We provide payroll services, including auto enrolment, and setting up NEST pension schemes. We can also help you set up simple systems for expenses and timesheets so you can keep accurate records without creating lots of extra admin.

Accounts

We can prepare statutory accounts, as well as management accounts (monthly or quarterly finance updates to help with decision making). Management accounts are particularly useful for small organisations who want to understand how they are doing financially and make informed decisions, rather than only looking at accounts once a year.

Registering new organisations

We can support with setting up new organisations, including Community Interest Companies (CICs), Companies Limited by Guarantee, and workers’ co-operatives. We can guide you through the process and help you set up simple financial and administrative systems from the beginning.
